    Introduction to Psycholinguistics—A Review

    Get PDF
How the human mind constructs a thought and applies it into language is called psycholinguistics. The paper aims to flash a light on psycholinguistics for a beginner and tries to flash the area untouched so far on psycholinguistics, for a high end reader of the subject. Psycholinguistics or psychology of language is the study of the psychological and neurobiological factors that enable humans to acquire, use, comprehend and produce language. The paper discusses the origin of the subject, its growth and issues and issues to be clarified through research. Further it throws light it sprawling areas and its present day uses and utilities etc. The paper ends touching the behavioral tasks, neuro-maging, and language production errors

ICT—Information and Communication Technology is an extensional term for Information Technology (IT) that stresses the role of unified communications and the integration of telecommunications (telephone lines and wireless signals) and computers, as well as necessary enterprise software, middleware, storage, and...ICT helps teacher to pass information to students within a very little time. ICT helps teacher to design educational environment. ICT helps teacher to identify creative child in educational institute. ICT helps teacher to motivate students and growing interest in learning. The paper envisages the maximum or at least optimum utility of ICT for the process of teaching and learning

The Spiritual Quest and Marginalization Based on Slum Novel

In abroad, blacks and whites are racially diverse. Although no one explicitly supports this, it is in the form of intrinsic fire. As far as India is concerned, although the distinctions of race, caste, class, language and religion are not admirable, it is a fiery fire and sometimes apparently shown. Today, Dalit literature in Tamil has established itself in the identity of a significant development. Since the outlook of Dalit literature written by Dalits has been broadened today, it is necessary to mention here the status of Dalit life in Telugu literature in terms of translated novels beyond the Tamil region. Thus, the Telugu novel 'Cheri' (Slum) written by Unnava Lakshminarayana has been translated into Tamil by MK Jagannath Raja. The article highlights the way Dalits are oppressed for being Dalits, even though they are spiritually and economically affluent in this novel

Saiva devotees and Pancha Bhoota Temples Worship

    Get PDF
Devotional literature helped to spread the vegan and Vaishnava religions during the period when Palki was growing in Tamil literature. Devotional literature considered the Pancha Bhootas to be a form of deity. It is said that the Lord is the Panchaputra. In the Twelve Trimesters the messages that the Lord has the attributes of the five elements of land, water, air, fire, and sky are subtly highlighted. The Saiva devotees went to the Pancha Bhootas site and worshiped the Lord. These temples were the backdrop for the construction of the temples. The gist of this article is that it highlights the cults of the Saiva devotees in a way that illustrates the glories and specialties of each temple

Establishing Contingency Analysis with FACTS Devices Using Power World Simulator

    Get PDF
Contingency analysis is the protection of power system operation under the loss of one or more of the major power system components. It is widely used to predict the effect of outages of transmission lines and generators. To calculate the number of violation, contingency analysis is the most preferable choice. Power systems use contingency analysis to foretell the result of any component failure. Contingency analysis is an application that uses a simulated model of power system to judge the result and calculate any overload. The proposed method approaches the flexible AC transmission system (FACTS) device to reduce the power flow in heavily loaded line and also increase the system performance. In this work, FACTS devices were implemented in IEEE 6-bus and IEEE 14-bus system and it is simulated by using Power World Simulator Software.Citation: MONISHA, B., and Balamurugan, K. (2018). Establishing Contingency Analysis with FACTS Devices Using Power World Simulator. Trends in Renewable Energy, 4, 114-131. DOI: 10.17737/tre.2018.4.3.005

Comparative Analysis of Various Z-source Based Five Level Cascaded H-bridge Multilevel Inverter

    Get PDF
Z-source based multilevel inverters are the recent topologies as they have boosting ability and near sinusoidal output waveforms. This paper proposes different inverter topologies such as Z-source multilevel inverter and quasi Z-source multilevel inverter. This paper also deals with switched inductor and improved switched inductor topologies with quasi Z-network. The proposed switched inductor system reduces the voltage stresses caused by capacitors, power devices and diodes. In addition to multilevel inverter advantages, the proposed configuration employs Z-source inverter advantages. The Z-source inverter as compared to the traditional inverter is less costly, less complex, more efficient and more reliable. The performance of the proposed configurations is analysed by varying passive elements in impedance network and is simulated in MATLAB/SIMULINK. Phase disposition (PD) pulse width modulation (PWM) technique is applied on the proposed configurations and performance parameters are measured by the fast Fourier transform FFT analysis. The object of this paper is to develop an inverter which is used for variable speed drives with increase in output voltage by eliminating transformer and filter circuit. The performance is checked with standared parameter of the inverter

EFFECT OF CIRCADIAN OSCILLATION DURING FOOD DEPRIVATION ON HEART RATE IN OBESE MEN

The purpose of the study was to find out the effect of circadian oscillation during food deprivation on heart rate among obese men. To achieve the purpose of the present study, sixty obese men from Islamiah College, Vaniyambadi, Tamilnadu, India were selected as subjects at random and their ages ranged from 18 to 25 years. The subjects were divided into four equal groups of fifteen subjects each. Group I acted as Experimental Group I (Food Deprivation Training), Group II acted as Experimental Group II (Physical training), Group III acted as Experimental Group III (Food Deprivation & Physical training) and Group IV acted as Control Group. The requirement of the experiment procedures, testing as well as training schedule was explained to the subjects so as to get full co-operation of the effort required on their part and prior to the administration of the study. Heart rate was assessed by using stethoscope. Experimental Group I was exposed to food deprivation training, Experimental Group II was exposed to physical training, Experimental Group III was exposed to food deprivation & physical training and Control Group was not exposed to any experimental training other than their regular daily activities. The duration of experimental period was 120 days. After the experimental treatment, all the sixty subjects were tested on heart rate. This final test scores formed as post test scores of the subjects. The pre test and post test scores were subjected to statistical analysis using Analysis of Covariance (ANCOVA) to find out the significance among the mean differences, whenever the ‘F’ ratio for adjusted test was found to be significant, Scheffe’s post hoc test was used. In all cases 0.05 level of significance was fixed to test hypotheses. The findings of the study showed that the combined food deprivation and physical training group showed changes in heart rate than the other experimental and control groups

Comparative Analysis and Evaluation of Image inpainting Algorithms

    Get PDF
Image inpainting refers to the task of filling in the missing or damaged regions of an image in an undetectable manner. There are a large variety of image inpainting algorithms existing in the literature. They can broadly be grouped into two categories such as Partial Differential Equation (PDE) based algorithms and Exemplar based Texture synthesis algorithms. However no recent study has been undertaken for a comparative evaluation of these algorithms. In this paper, we are comparing two different types of image inpainting algorithms. The algorithms analyzed are Marcelo Bertalmio’s PDE based inpainting algorithm and Zhaolin Lu et al’s exemplar based Image inpainting algorithm. Both theoretical analysis and experiments have made to analyze the results of these image inpainting algorithms on the basis of both qualitative and quantitative way.
